TOMORROW – Dance! Eat ! Drink! And be merry helping us KEEP PLASTICS OUT OF THE OCEANS!

I feel very strongly that we should get rid of single use plastic and we can all do our bit to help!

So we are! In an experiment starting on Sunday, instead of single use plastic cups, you can collect a rather lovely re-usable plastic tumbler, mark or decorate it with the pens provided and then drink from that instead!

We would encourage you to take it home, wash it and bring it with you next time – but if that’s just a bit too much like hard work, leave it to be collected and they will see that it is washed up – those marking come off – and brought next time!

Alexandra Wood returns once again to Tango on the Thames – this time, with the popular dancer and teacher, Hernán Brusa!

Alexandra contributed (with Vincent Simone) to Debbie Magee’s memorable Argentine Tango on last year’s “Strictly…”, which Debbie chose as her favourite in the final. In all, Alexandra says she “got to work with 4 fabulous couples and it was an incredible experience! Well done to all of them!”

Alfredo Martin Espindola

Martin is a dedicated dance practitioner and performer in both tango and contemporary disciplines. His focus and approach have been influenced by his previous experience as a high-profile athlete and coach on the world stage. This experience developed an acutely analytical awareness which he brings into his dance work.

He is a creative independent thinker who dedicate his time exploring ways of enhancing our relation with movement through dance. From a very early age, and due to the lack of insightful technical approach,he began his own training methods, which led him to the top of his field, at that time track and field, sprinting events, representing Argentina in international competitions several times. Having acted as a consultant in the Argentinian National Sport Centre helping Olympic and world stage athletes is among his most worthy experience in the is field.

Martin was awarded a degree in Physical Education, with contemporary dance as a chosen subject, at Jorge Coll, Mendoza, Argentina.

Martin has studied both classic and new style tango intensively for the past 15 years.
He further developed his contemporary dance skills through the Viviana Lasparra’s school in Argentina and is currently under mentorship, training with Jean Newlove, Laban’s Personal Assistant for a number of years. Additional influences have been through observing the work process at attending classes and workshops with Richard Alston, Fernanda Pratta, Hofesh Schetcher and Fred Geridh, among others. Having researched for many years sphere dynamics, he also incorporates this fundamental element to his ground-breaking take on movement and dance.

Diego Doigneau

Argentinian “DJ de Tango”, Diego will have just returned from Buenos Aires to bring us his intelligent, imaginative, responsive, but above all danceable choices of music during a milonga. Diego is connoisseur of tango music and uses his exquisite taste to bring joy to the dance floor. We are fortunate to have him play for us!
